Trying to avoid grains entirely, and have recently learned that some vodkas are made with various grains instead of the original potato.
Does anyone have recommendations on a potato vodka?
Thanks in advance.
Are you avoiding all grains for some reason, or just being gluten free? Smirnoff is made from corn, so is safe for most that have celiac. (And if you don't, I wonder why you would want to go this far to avoid grains.)
Luksusowa is the only vodka from potatoes that I tend to see regularly and it is a good one. You may want to check what brands you can find locally to see what they are made from. Some high end vodkas use a variety of ingredients.
I used to serve quite a bit of it back when I owned a bar in the early 90's. Truly good stuff, and it won't break the bank, thought it's more expensive than a lot of the call brands.
I'd second Luksusowa as it's not only excellent straight up, but it's also reasonably priced. I've never tried Vikingfjord though. I do like Luksusowa better than Tito's. I like Chopin, but find it very overpriced. We have a local vodka here in Pgh, Boyd & Blair, which is also excellent, but again, expensive compared to Luksusowa.

I can highly recommend Luksusowa. It is not expensive, and I find it much smoother than even the most expensive grain vodkas. I keep a bottle of the stuff in my house always.
Luksusowa here I come! Chopin when cash flow is better.
Thanks, all who posted - I've repped each reply.
