Museum at Coyote Hills

The Museum at Coyote Hills is located on Nimitz Fairway in Fremont, California. The museum is one of several located in Fremont for visitors and residents to enjoy. This particular museum is a natural history museum that is dedicated to offering education, study, and a sense of community to all those who attend. The artifacts on display at this museum are from the Ohlone Indians and early generations of Californians. As a natural history museum some of the displays are geologically, geographically, and state related.

The Ohlone Indians were one of the tribes that spent time in California before they became extinct. The land around Fremont was vibrant and full of animal and plant life that the tribe could subsist on. The museum is located at Coyote Hills State Park. The state park is open daily allowing visitors to enjoy picnics, as well as a walk through the museum. The museum requires a small admission and also takes donations if one is willing. It is a smaller museum with only a few artifacts, unlike other state museums that can be several thousand square feet. Despite its small size it is worth stopping at to learn more about a long ago culture.
