Las Tunas State Beach

At the south end of the Malibu beaches at 19444 Pacific Coast Highway, Las Tunas State Beach is popular among fisherman, surfers, and those seeking to get away from the crowds.

The topography of Las Tunas State Beach includes both rocky and sandy areas where beachgoers can enjoy surfing, surf-fishing, scuba diving, swimming, and relaxing on the sand. In addition, visitors will appreciate the ease of access to the beach. Visitors can recognize the beach's location by a wide dirt area along Pacific Coast Highway at which to pull over.

Once thought to benefit the beach by preventing erosion, hunks of metal can be seen at low tide and make for interesting photography. The Las Tunas neighborhood, located directly across the street, sits atop beachside cliffs looking over the Pacific Ocean and displays construction of a variety of architectural styles.

The beach is less populated than most, and visitors will find lifeguards at the beach during daylight hours. Restrooms are available and parking is located on the street. The park is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

Las Tunas State Beach is a narrow beach located 25 minutes by car along the coast to the north of Los Angeles. Nearby attractions include Getty Villa, Topanga state park, Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, scuba diving, and parks.:
