Gekkeikan Sake

Gekkeikan Sake is a brewing company in Folsom, California making that Asian rice wine that is so popular. Fushimi, Japan can be given the credit for sake being created 360 years ago at the Gekkeikan Japan location, which is how Gekkeikan was even able to open its doors. Gekkeikan uses a brewing process that is even older than the Fushimi roots. In fact the process is 2,000 years old and continues to corner the market as the most successful in producing a great brewed taste.

Gekkeikan is the first North American facility. Folsom was selected because it has the right conditions to brew the rice wine with high water quality and abundant lands. USA products are mostly traditional Sake that is created over six months long in the brewing process. Gekkeikan Sake also offers imported Sake in their store. There is a tasting room at Gekkeikan Sake where visitors can get a tour of the brewing company and taste test the merchandise. There is a koi pond and Japanese garden to offer a peaceful area to taste the wine and relax.

The store offers unique snacks and other gifts for sale such as Japanese dishes, sake sets, and dolls. Tours are available Monday through Friday 10am to 4:30pm.
