Gainey Vineyard


Gainey Vineyard is located at East Highway 246 in the Santa Ynez Valley just north of Santa Barbara in California and is approximately two and a half hours north of Los Angeles. The Gainey family purchased their Santa Ynez Valley land in 1962 including 100 acres of vineyards. In 1983 that they planted 50 acres more to produce world class wines and opened their Spanish style winery the following year.

Now visitors can come and taste the wines at the tasting room, which is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Winery tours and tastings, are also conducted daily on the hour from 10am to the last tour starting at 4pm. There are picnic tables located in the vineyard garden where visitors can enjoy the wine whilst taking in the great views.

Amongst the wines to be found here are white Rieslings, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as well as various reds such as Merlots and Pinot Noir. Wines can be purchased here along with gifts, spices, sauces and other garnishes. Weddings and other special events can be catered for here with the tasting room big enough to accommodate up to 50 people and the patio area up to 200 seated guests.
