Eagle Paragliding School

Eagle Paragliding School in Santa Barbara, California began in 2006 when a merger of two paragliding schools occurred. Students who wish to find out what paragliding is all about can take lessons at the school to learn how to use the equipment, store it and set it up for their trips. The company has a reputation as an industry leader in California. The founder is Rob Sporrer who was given the Instructor of the Year Award by the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association.

Rob Sporrer started paragliding in 1995 when he saw a paraglider flying in Santa Barbara. He decided he had to learn how to do that, so he sought out Tom Truax, a leader in the field. With different levels of paragliding it took Rob Sporrer a little time to get the school started and to become known as an instructor. Now he offers lessons, tours, and clinics to help others interested in the sport. Depending on the instruction it can be $200 or more. A tandem flight starts at $100. The lessons can be 8 hours for a full day and continue for more than one day depending on the person's needs.
