Description: Developed in three phases beginning in 1988, Valley Forge Inn supplies a mixed bag of room layouts and amenities. The inn’s 150 standard rooms and 21 suites are divided among three buildings, the tallest of which is four stories; rooms are accessible from the outside as well as interior hallways. In the original structure, the typical room has two queen beds and a well-remodeled package of furnishings and decor. The second and third buildings, which went up in the early and mid-1990s, contain both standard rooms and suites, some with refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffeemakers, fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and private balconies. Some of the newer suites are big enough to sleep six in a single king and two-queen bed combination. On the top level of the newest building are 10 two-level town houses with two bathrooms in each. Valley Forge Inn supplies free continental breakfast, a coin-operated laundry, indoor and outdoor pools, and in-room satellite television. Seniors get 5 percent discounts on rates. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the name, the inn has no ties to Pennsylvania or to George Washington. Owners Jimmy and Joe Cole explain that their father, Jim Cole, who built the inn, named it for both Wears Valley Road (which is a quarter mile away) and Pigeon Forge.
