Description: There are many fine ways to view the natural wonders of Custer State Park, but sitting astride a horse has to be one of the best. On a one- or two-hour guided trail ride departing from the stables at Blue Bell Lodge and Resort, you can expect to come upon wildlife and learn about the park itself from your guide. The rides are extremely popular, and reservations are recommended; they’re required for half-day and full-day pack trips. Children must ride alone and be four or older. Rides are available daily from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., mid-May until mid-Sept. Fees start at $28 for adults and $22 for children 11 and younger; ask about the special rate for groups of 10 or more. Other rides range from $40 to $190 per person.
