Description: Outside the Oklahoma History Center, located on the northeast corner of Northeast 23rd and Lincoln Boulevard, across the street from the Oklahoma capitol, you will find this park. As you pull into the history center’s parking lot, the park is on the northeast part of the property. A concrete path will lead you around to the oil equipment. Each piece explores the drilling, production, and transportation phases of the Oklahoma oil and gas industry. There are four oil derricks, including a 1950 portable rotary platform rig, which represent the types of derricks used throughout Oklahoma’s gas and exploration history. Placards are located on each piece of equipment so visitors can read and learn about each. Feel free to park in the history center’s lot. Admission is free to the Devon Oil and Gas Park.
