Description: The Oklahoman is the largest daily newspaper in Oklahoma and the only newspaper that covers the entire Oklahoma City area. It was started in 1889 by Reverend Sam Small, an evangelist and reformed drinker, who later sold it to Roy Stafford. In 1903, Stafford sold interests in the paper to Edward K. Gaylord, R. M. McClintock, and Ray Dickinson. Gaylord continued to run the paper and today, his heirs own it. The Oklahoman provides national and local news, sports, weather, comics and classified ads. Its Sun edition offers expanded coverage and includes a large number of coupons.Readers can find this newspaper in local bookstores or on racks around the metro. Subscriptions are available as well. The paper costs 75 cents and the Sun edition costs $2. A 13-week subscription of the Sun edition only costs $19.29 and a 13-week daily subscription costs $36.22. Circulation is over 250,000.
