Description: Located in the Forest Park neighborhood, this wooded country retreat welcomes visitors from all across the country. The grounds have almost three wooded acres filled with gardens, two koi ponds, a gazebo, and sitting areas. The innkeepers, Lionel and Johnita Turner, have turned the English Tudor country mansion into a peaceful getaway.Guests have four accommodations to choose from, each special in its own right. In the upstairs north wing is Arthur’s Place. It features a hand-carved, mahogany, king-size bed; a fireplace; a sitting area; and a writing desk. The bathroom is a pavilion surrounded by an inspiring stained-glass wall, glass shower for two, and a king-size jetted whirlpool.In the upstairs south wing, Eleanor’s Suite is decorated in soft garden colors and features a queen-size bed. The bedchamber opens onto the balcony of the conservatory with a king-size jetted tub for two and a sitting area for morning coffee. The master bath includes a shower and double sinks. An adjoining bedroom is available with this suite.The Fox Run is a favorite with travelers. It has a double bed, workspace for business guests, and an adjoining bath in the hall.For a truly one-of-a-kind, fairy-tale experience, guests will want to stay in the Pleasant Under Glass room. Located in the gardens, the greenhouse cottage encloses a king-size jetted tub for two under glass for moonlight nights, yet with floral screening for privacy. A hand-carved and painted queen-size bed, fireplace, and private bath and shower, add to the elegance of the stay. This room is the ultimate in fantasy and privacy. Breakfast has an elegant English touch with the cook’s specialty of scones and fruit compote. It is served in the great hall overlooking the ponds and a bird feeding station.The Mansion is a nonsmoking location.
