Since 2002 Mercy has doubled the size of the hospital to include a renovated emergency department, an expanded intensive-care unit, an updated main laboratory, a new admitting area, and other improvements.The Mercy Ambulatory Surgery Center next to Mercy Hospital Fairfield is one of the most highly used, freestanding surgery centers in the country. Utilizing the latest in techniques and equipment for outpatient surgery (endoscopy, pain management, laser procedures), it enjoys a 98 percent satisfaction rate from patients.
