Description: Seton Keough is a hybrid that was created in 1988 when Seton High School, a midtown city high school for girls founded by the Daughters of Charity in 1865, merged with Archbishop Keough High School and moved out to its 30-acre campus where Keough had been since its founding by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1965. Seton Keough offers a comprehensive college preparatory program for all its girls that includes advanced-placement classes, and the Marillac Program for students with special needs, and the Focus program for students who enter the school achieving below their grade level in major subject areas. New in the fall of 2009 was Project Lead the Way in Engineering and Biomedical Science. The science and engineering curriculum is partnered with St. Agnes Hospital, Northrop Grumman, the Knott Foundation, and the France-Merrick Foundation. The curriculum has two tracks Engineering and Biomedical Sciences. This dynamic program uses hands-on experiences, and real-world problems to engage and challenge students. To be accepted into the program, students must demonstrate aptitude in mathematics and science and be recommended by their teachers. The program begins in freshmen year with introductory courses in engineering and biomedical science. Additionally, Seton Keough offers the Parallel Enrollment Program (PEP), a program that provides college courses on campus at Seton Keough. The course offerings are in business management, business law, psychology, and sociology. More than 500 students are enrolled at Seton Keough.
