Description: While two separate establishments, both restaurants have much in common. First, each offers the biggest and most delectable hamburgers in the area; you probably will not be able to eat it in one setting. Don’t worry; both places provide “to go” containers. The burgers are made to order from the freshest of meat so relax and order fries or onion rings and a soft drink or beer. The buns are also made fresh. Second, each place can accommodate 30–40 hungry folks in casual, traditional diner environments. Third, the Muffulettas will make your mouth water. Fourth, both are quite popular with the military personnel, business folks, and just about everybody else. In both locations I have heard patrons tell the chef, “This is the best hamburger I have ever eaten.” But each restaurant has its own qualities that make it unique. At Papa’s the rib eye Philly sandwich, grilled shrimp, chicken salad, and homemade bread pudding have a loyal following. Regulars at Vicki’s like the shrimp or oyster po’boys, catfish basket, and the soup of the day, which is always delicious and homemade. Go to both and see why these down-home restaurants remain so popular. Papa & Company is open Mon through Fri from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sat from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., while Vicki & Company is open Mon through Sat from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
