Accommodations
Numerous folks find themselves looking for a hotel, motel, suite, or an RV park when coming to the Shreveport–Bossier area. Many persons want to try their luck at the casinos. Professionals affiliated with the Haynesville Shale, possibly the largest on-shore natural gas field in North America, look for extended stay properties while the local air force base and hospitals bring in another distinct crowd. And with the recent opening of the new 350,000-square-foot downtown Shreveport Convention Center, the largest facility in the region that can accommodate groups as large as 8,600 people, the business travelers are arriving in bigger numbers. But with over 10,000 beds and more hotels on the way, Shreveport–Bossier strives to accommodate them all. And since occupancy rates tend to be high, the market remains highly competitive, leading more properties to engage in frequent renovations to attract guests who desire clean rooms with the latest amenities.
Most hotels will be found along I-20, either clustered near the airport or the casinos. With only a few exceptions, the hotels are chain properties, but most have gone the extra mile to give rooms and suites that extra sense of flair to distinguish them from the competition. All hotels are child and family friendly, with children under a certain age staying for free when accompanied by an adult. Cribs and additional bedding will also be available, but usually for an extra charge. All properties listed take all major credit cards and stand in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); rooms with roll-in tubs or showers will be noted in each hotel’s description. Unless otherwise noted, pets are not welcomed, with the exception of service animals.
