What makes this site unique is its wheelchair accessibility, with a specially designed fishing pier and restrooms. Numerous picnic tables and chairs, complete with grills, can be found throughout this 15-acre park, along with two playgrounds and a large green space for playing a friendly game of flag football, soccer, or any other field sport. A family pavilion is available. And look for the wildflowers that grow to the right of the entrance. A long peninsula offers an opportunity for on-shore fishing. Bird-watchers: bring the binoculars. Approximately 263 species of birds have been spotted in the area, including the rare sighting of a black-billed cuckoo and the more common appearances of red-headed woodpeckers and prothonotary warblers. Free paved parking is available. Open seven days a week, from dusk until dawn. Fishers can visit 24 hours a day.
