Description: Housed in the historic Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railway Station, LASM includes fine art galleries that showcase special exhibitions and works from the museum’s collection. Also featured are the Ivan Mestrovic sculpture atrium and an Ancient Egypt Gallery, complete with mummy. The Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, a world-class attraction, houses a 60-foot domed theater presenting large-format films, sky shows, and visual music shows using the most advanced visual and sound technology available. Learn about the seasonal night sky and current celestial events, and explore the solar system. LASM and the Planetarium bring art and science together. Numerous programs are planned for children and adults alike. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (planetarium open until 8 p.m.); and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
