Description: If you’re looking for a place to start your exploration of the Derby City, pop in at the Louisville visitor center downtown at the corner of Fourth and Jefferson. Friendly volunteers are on hand to tell you about all of the local attractions, as well as to help you organize tours of the city. This is where you can get discounted tickets to the Derby Dinner Playhouse, Dinosaur World in Cave City, Falls of the Ohio interpretive center, Farmington Historic Plantation, Frazier International History Museum, Glassworks, Historic Locust Grove, Kentucky Derby Museum, Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, the Louisville Science Center & IMAX Theatre, the Louisville Slugger Museum, Muhammad Ali Center, Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing, the Louisville Zoo, the Speed Art Museum, and more.You can also get a $3 Transit Authority of River City (TARC) “Day Tripper” Pass, which allows unlimited trips during any one-day period on the city’s bus system, and on the downtown trolley system. With the pass you’ll receive a brochure featuring Louisville’s main tourist attractions. There are also a number of items available in the gift shop, including bourbon-themed memorabilia, clothing, and books on the city’s haunted past. There’s also information about the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. In addition, an informative display brings to life Kentucky’s most famous son, Colonel Harland Sanders himself.The downtown visitor center offers free, one-hour guided walking tours of Louisville, “Possibility City,” weather permitting.
