Description: Founded in 1977, the Kentucky Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (KAHSA) strives to enhance the quality of life of its members by developing leadership, advancing sound public policy, providing education, sharing information, and facilitating networking opportunities. It represents a variety of not-for-profit community, church, proprietary, and government-sponsored health-care facilities, as well as retirement communities, assisted living, housing, and service programs for the elderly and the disabled. KAHSA members include assisted living facilities, independent housing units, nursing facilities, intermediate care centers for the mentally challenged continuing care retirement communities, retired seniors volunteer programs, and multifacility agencies offering direct care.
