Description: Established in 1941, Indiana University Southeast is a regional campus of the Indiana University system, located in New Albany, less than a 15-minute drive from downtown Louisville. The campus is situated at the edge of southern Indiana’s picturesque “knobs,” a region of rolling hills that run parallel to the Ohio River. With some 6,000 students, IU Southeast has earned a good reputation for its bachelor’s degree programs in nursing, business, and education. They also offer a variety of other bachelor’s degree programs, in addition to six master’s and various associate degree programs. A large percentage of the students at IUS are considered nontraditional students, and most of the student body take advantage of the school’s convenient scheduling—there are lots of night classes, and generally no classes on Fridays—to study while they work full- or part-time.
