Description: Founded in 1971 as the Butler Tarkington Multi-Service Center, the Martin Luther King Community Center serves people of all ages in the Metropolitan Indianapolis area. The Senior Program at the center offers activities for people 55 and older. From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wed through Fri, participants enjoy various activities including current events, games, shopping, and presentations from guest speakers. Lunch is provided every day and seniors also enjoy field trips. Health and wellness presentations are offered as well as health fairs that provide education to keep seniors mentally and physically fit. Participants are also provided free blood pressure and cholesterol checks on a monthly basis.
