Description: The Atlanta Speech School was founded in 1938 by the Junior League of Atlanta. It was based in a building the League bought with money raised at a ball to mark the opening of Gone With the Wind. The school housed the first audiology clinic in the area, which continues to provide evaluation of all kinds of communication disorders. Today 309 students attend nursery, kindergarten classes, and grades one through six, but the school serves over 1,800 students and adults annually.
