City: Miami, FL
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (305) 673-6730

Description: This authentically Greek restaurant won’t just serve you Greek food; it’ll encourage you to celebrate it by dancing above it. Ask anyone about a visit to Opa and dancing on the tables (which is encouraged) is what will come to mind. Nonetheless, the food is also a worthwhile reason to visit. Traditional Greek dishes include appetizers such as tzatziki (yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and dill) and dolmades (grape leaves with rice and herbs). Lamb and beef are especially popular but the veggie-dense menu makes it easy for any type of eater to find a favorite. Seafood lovers can also take their pick from dishes such as crispy fried smelts with garlic potato spread; grilled octopus with olive oil, vinegar and oregano; and sautéed shrimp with tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil, feta cheese, and a splash of vodka, among others. Large groups should consider doing a family-style menu for either $30 per person, which includes 6 appetizers and 4 entrées; $35 per person, which includes 8 appetizers and 5 entrees; or $40 per person, which includes 9 appetizers and 11 entrées. Desserts and drinks are separate. There are six South Florida locations including Miami Beach; visit the website for more information. A second Miami location is in the Dolphin Mall at 11401 NW 12th St., West Miami (305-513-8388).
