Description: The Falcon House is a contemporary American restaurant and bar in downtown Delray Beach, featuring small plates, big drinks, and good times. There’s an innovative menu, decor that’s casually elegant, and a steady stream of people coming in to see what all the fuss is about. There’s a big bar inside, a seating area outside, hundreds of glasses hanging from the ceiling, and—surprise!—pictures of falcons all over the walls.Tapas, of course, are a concept that originated in Spain long ago—small samplings of various foods, in small plates continuously brought to your table. The Falcon House has transformed this concept to include samplings of American treats and nouvelle cuisine, as well. Chef Joshua Hedquist has a way with filet mignon; Hawaiian tuna poke, which comes to your table with crushed honey-toasted macadamia nuts, sesame seeds, crispy taro chips, and chili-scallion soy; and with Thai peanut chicken satay, marinated and grilled chicken skewers, with vegetable fried rice. His desserts are perfect compliments to his meals. The Mississippi mud pie with chocolate fudge sauce will make you wish you were down on the bayou. And the warm apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream and caramel is just as good. The Falcon House mixes a mean cocktail, as well. The Ultimate Margarita is a mix of Milagro Silver tequila, agave nectar, lemons, and limes. The Falcon lemonade is Van Gogh Acai Blueberry Vodka, muddled lemons, and sugar.
