Description: This is a popular restaurant with a decor that can best be described as minimalist Oriental. The chairs are bright white, the lighting is very-funky track- and hanging-lighting, and there are several golden statues of an Oriental goddess. The food is very colorful and very fresh, with an emphasis on natural elements. There’s also outdoor dining, right on the Atlantic Avenue sidewalk.The lemongrass roll is a good way to start dinner here; it’s pork, mushrooms, and water chestnuts that are deep-fried and then wrapped in rice paper. Also try the curry puff, a fried pastry stuffed with ground chicken, onion, yellow curry, and sweet potatoes, and served with cucumber relish. For entrees the Hawaiian Dancer combines scallops, chicken, pineapple, carrots, snow peas, bell peppers, and cashew nuts in tamarind sauce. The KC Rainbow is a sushi roll of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, imitation crab, asparagus, masago, and scallions, wrapped in cucumber and sesame seeds. And don’t bypass Sex on the Moon—with shrimp tempura, avocado, asparagus, scallions, eel masago, and tuna, with tempura flakes on the top.
