Description: Bru does, indeed, know sports . . . because Bru is Bob Brudzinski, former linebacker for the Miami Dolphins. He’s a local hero around here. And he runs one of the most popular gathering places in South Florida. His menu is an interesting combination of innovative new items and old favorites. The appetizer list has the usual onion rings and nachos. But you’ll also find items like hot peppers (jalapeño peppers stuffed with cream cheese) and the Southwest egg roll (chicken, black beans, corn, cheese, cilantro, and spinach in a deep-fried egg roll). The wings and the ribs are great, as well, as you might expect. And there’s always sports on the TVs.But many Palm Beach County folks come to Bru’s Room especially for the hamburgers. If you’re starving, go for the half-pound black angus burger. If you think spice is nice, go for the hot-n-bleu-burger, a Cajun-spiced burger with bleu cheese and hot mayonnaise sauce. Bru’s barbecue burger is another half-pounder, cooked in Bru’s own barbecue sauce, and topped with melted cheese, bacon, and Tabasco fried onions. And the patty melt is smothered in melted cheese and sautéed onions, and served on rye bread.Bru’s being Bru’s, there are always special events here, such as the Flutie Brothers Band, featuring former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie; Knockin’ Knoggins Trivia Contests; and annual events such as the White Trash Bash. And many of Bob Brudzinski’s old pals from the Miami Dolphins often stop by, such as Kim Bokamper, a former Dolphins lineman who’s now a local sportscaster.
