Description: The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site is an educational, nonprofit living history farm and museum illustrating life in the Pikes Peak region in four time periods from 1775 to 1907. It includes the 1860’s Galloway Homestead, the 1880’s Chambers Home and Ranch, and the 1907 Edwardian Country Estate. The history association members help support the site, owned by the City of Colorado Springs and adjacent to the Garden of the Gods. The group helps preserve and enhance the living history program of the ranch and encourages citizen and volunteer involvement and participation in heritage programs. It also works to preserve the history of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. An individual membership is $20 a year.

Description: If you’re really into the outdoors, this is the group for you. You’ll get a good workout (no gym for you!) maintaining local trails and open space, befriending orphan parks in need of some TLC, and generally tending to the area’s natural beauty. This group also holds some political clout and is responsible for the city acquiring some key properties, such as Red Rock Canyon, for public use.
