Internal promotion from one step to the next? But as others have said, there are way too many variables. IC promotion? Promotion from IC to manager? Promotion from manager to director? Is this a salary only role? Or are we talking restricted stock and bonus scales that change from level to level?
One person may get a 20% salary bump. Another may get a 10% salary bump, $X of RSUs, and a bump from 20% to 40% max bonus.

It depends on how far one jumps. In my group, going from the lead person to my manager job would be about 30%. and going from my manager job to director about 25%. Not likely but if someone went from entry level to director it would be 330%. If you are just asking about one step, such as going from entry level to the next level about 7-10%.
Managers here have a range they can use, but with a maximum percentage.
At my company I'm pretty sure it's around 15-20% base salary. That would also essentially give you an extra 15-20% on your bonus as well, though, since annual bonus is a percentage of base salary.
At the companies I’ve worked for, it is typically 10-15% of base salary. Generally, promotions have greater responsibility, and a larger percentage of variable compensation (performance based bonuses based on company and individual performance.) The 10-15% initial increase given at promotion time in base salary may end up being more.
I've found that internal promotions tend to be at a lower percentage than external. It's one of the reasons why companies like to promote from within. They get the benefit of an employee already familiar with the work, and the employee is more willing to go along since an internal promotion is just much less stressful/risky than what comes with interviewing and accepting an external position.
Sometimes it is a "Dry Promotion" - a bigger title, but no more money.
