After experiencing the winter snow and the spring blooms I just had to see the fall leaves in the Smoky Mountains and finally got to do so last fall. Here are just a few of the hundreds of photos I took. It was an amazing experience. I can't get up there often enough from here in south Louisiana.

A trio of recent pics...
Nice pink clouds, as the sunset rays lit up the sky...
Cinco de Mayo, snow flurries all day, though little 'stuck' except on the deck and other cold areas. We did crank up the wood stove for last fire of 'Spring'.
Thunderheads off to the SE of us last eve, but no rain from them. After dark, the lightning could be seen stroking through the clouds.
The Soakers and Lightning Storms finally left for awhile, and the sunset was fine with setting sun/golden hour light on the clouds across the valley and over the peaks, from our view.

For my fellow photo geeks: Canon 40D, (still running), f13, 1/80 sec exp, ISO 160, EF-S lens 15-85mm at ~ 21 mm on a crop sensor, cleaned up a bit in Adobe Lightroom.
Ventured over to Asheville from Tennessee on Friday, taking advantage of the gorgeous weather to enjoy about 50 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Got on the BRP at the NC Arboretum, milepost 393, and explored Craggy Gardens along the way. Happy to see that the rhododendrons there were in full bloom. Here are some shots of that fantastic area and a few vistas seen on the drive to milepost 344.
