I've read that the entire state has oil and gas potential so I'm guessing one could possibly get mineral rights if oil and gas companies decided to lease your land for exploration?
1) Unless you plan on buying several hundred or thousand acres, the chances of you finding a piece of property which would then be bought or leased by an oil or gas company for exploration or transportation is extremely low.
2) If you can't figure out which areas that you could buy and turn without asking an internet message board, your "investment" probably won't end well.
Great idea, but I think that you're years too late. Gas companies went through the prime pieces of land years ago and leased them. In some cases, the land owner took in lease money and the oil company didn't drill. Some of those leases are over and the cycle can start again.
Hello ethnicappalachian. Yes. My buddy did this for a gig. Its coal country so sell land like pawning gold. Considering any other kinda investing, theres a LOTTA property. Cheeeeap. Invest in the locals, first, outsider or otherwise. P-burg, Vienna, Williamstown, MOV, lines the mighty ohio river: small airport wood county and CBUS airport closest big'un.
