Reading an article in the Charleston paper, I note that the Public Service Commission is unilaterally raising fees on all utilities to cover the cost of millions in repairs to its building in Charleston. It's an amazing thing when an organization like this can just demand more money without any oversight.

They hire people to design, and to build, these buildings often based on patronage and connections. The final result is of little importance. The result is a product built with little attention to detail and a lot of attention to cheap construction methods. Nearly all State of West Virginia buildings emerge from the process looking like award winners in the latest Russian Gulag competition. Have you ever noticed that?

To be fair, its not necessarily the state's fault the construction quality was poor. I do agree however that it is ridiculous that they are going to raise fees on others because their building needs work. That my friend i ridiculous and shouldn't be tolerated by the state house. And that picture is rather deceiving, that building was very attractive before they took the whole side of it off.

Tear it down. We have a hotel on the outskirts of town. The owner complained to the PSC that he wanted a refund on his sewer rates because he just pumps his pool water into the ground at the end of the season and he is paying sewer fee's on this water.

The city fought it saying that he can't pump chemically treated water directly into the ground.

The PSC ruled that he couldn't but they were not concerned with the small amount that is pool water and ruled that the city has to reimburse the hotel owner.

If I had been there I would have said then the little oil waste I have changing my cars oil will never be noticed when I pour it in the yard.

The PSC is a joke.

20% of the time their incompetence slams into their dysfunction and an inadvertant act of reason transpires.

Federal gov't somehow manages to almost hit the 0% mark. Incompetence meets dsyfunction meets corruption, oh my.
