If that's some of the worst roads Spain has to offer, then Spain has far better roads than we do.

Owen, if you want to see real poverty, then streetview small towns in Romania. Compared to Romania, Spain is not poor

In Spain they are about 30 years behind us. They had shrines of mary everywhere it was so random, like you'd just be driving and see a mary statue, we don't even have that on the island of Ireland. Then they close all shops at lunch time (which is so inconveniant), close shops on Sunday and do not open them. Buildings are awful.

When we arrived my mum said "watch your bags, I think people are watching us"

There were loads of black people and beggars. They had stalls with people trying to sell us cheap grappy guess bags. Like honestly do they think we are that thick? We actually have Guess stuff in this country for real and we know when they are doing counterfit.

Their country roads were like rubble.
Wonder why nobody ever want to sell me fake bags? Oh, right. Must be that I don't look like a plump and sunburned hick from NI.

"I think people are watching us".

Would be priceless to travel with Owen's family.

True dat. I've never been to Murcia. But isn't it along with Extremadura the poorest region of Spain? Like you go to a rural hellhole in Kainuu and wonder why Finland isn't soaking with money after all.

It's funny how you act like Spain outside of British hotspots is a developing country. It's not. Guess what? Rural areas in larger countries are always neglected. Welcome to the real world. Spain's poverty is definitely not among even the worst of Europe. Have you ever been to a poor neighborhood even in the UK? I have, and it's not pretty
