We are number TWO now in gas prices.

Thanks to the Democrats we have now passed Hawaii in the price of gas. Just four cents behind the leader California.

From AAA: https://gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/

California is at 4.888 per gallon.

Washington is right behind at 4.844. Just under 4.4 cents per gallon. Pretty sure we are going to be number ONE soon.

Those losers in Hawaii, at in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, are currently paying $4.735 cents a gallon!!!

Faced with the choice between sucking up to rich environmentalists and helping working people......the Democrats have made it clear they are on the side of the RICH and FAMOUS.

Gas Buddy also shows that we passed Hawaii. Their prices are slightly lower than AAA.

I think with the next "auction" in a couple months, Washington state will have the highest gas prices in the nation by a wide margin.

The statewide average doesn't tell the whole story. I have yet top pay $4.84 this year, there is the discounted prices with points from Safeway and Kroger, Costco's lower prices, and Tribal gas stations without all of the taxes. In Fife, for example, Costco is $4.39, same as the Tribal Shell nearby on Pacific Highway E. In Marysville, a Tribal gas station is at $3.99. It's the Metro Seattle area where they are taking advantage of the high incomes and the new tax increase puts us up even higher in some cases than Hawaii or California. Here in Sammamish where I live but would never fill up with gas, 76 is $5.49, 7-Eleven is $5.04, Chevron $5.14.

Still, those "lower" prices are very relative. When I was in the area last fall/winter, I remember being shocked by the prices. Of course my friend and I took advantage of tribal prices whenever possible, but those were still high, mostly above $4.00. Meanwhile, in parts of the Denver area, prices ranged from the low $3.00 range to $3.59 or a bit higher, depending. Though prices were steadily going up and down. Just a couple of weeks ago, I gassed up for $2.97 at the lowest-priced station I could find. A couple of days later, that had climbed by about .30, while prices in most of Denver proper were around $4.00, give or take.

$5 and up are California prices.

Follow the money, and btw no one needs to drive. The goal is to price the majority out of driving and rake in the money and kickbacks while doing it. An additional bonus, more inflation in what is rapidly becoming the most expensive state to live in. We can all step/sit in diarrhea and urine and breathe fentanyl smoke on public transit.

I keep wondering how long that will last. I know the tribes are more-or-less untouchable, but how long can they cheat the state out of that tax money?

Not really. Pricing at this level if not higher will be the result of pushing everyone into electric vehicles and hybrids, which has already been going on for quite awhile. The lower the demand for petroleum, the higher the price will be. Because investing in new sources is very expensive. The money has to come from somewhere, and if it doesn't, they'll just sit on known reserves, causing prices to go higher.

Kind of the opposite of what you were predicting.

Haha! The law says--as long as they want. They have the right. I wonder if some of them will get into the electric charging station business, and if non-tribal stations will have to deal with state taxes on their electricity sales.

Stay tuned, kids, for more fun developments!

I was in SJC last week. Gas at major brands ~$4.59.
I got the feeling that Redmond has more EV's than SJC.
SJC downtown is depressing-lots of boarded up restaurants and stores. Clean but empty streets.
