I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel in Tacoma that has the prettiest Christmas decorations. Just planning on staying one night in the area and would love to stay at a festive hotel.

If you like Xmas light visit the Jamestown Casino or the dungarees golf course...both are dazzling and a little overwheleming.

Yes, the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe's 7 Cedars casino is in Sequim, not near Tacoma though.

Try the Hotel Murano in Tacoma.

McMenamen's Elks Temple. https://www.mcmenamins.com/elks-temple Downtown Tacoma. I haven't stayed at this McMenamin, but the McMens have a reputation of being a very boutique hotels and public house (Pubs), with music venues. Large local clientele.
Every McMenamens is different and unusual.
YMMV

Of course in Washington state, isn't that the purpose of the thread.
If you aren't familiar with Jamestown its an Olympic Penisnula Indian tribe casino in Blyn just east of Sequim on 101 and the golf course owned by the tribe is northwest of Sequim off of Woodcock road.

I think the confusion is the OP is specifically asking about a hotel in Tacoma. We can suggest hotels statewide including the Christmas lights of Leavenworth. But that's not really the question. Might be good for others looking somewhere else, I guess. Seattle might have some good lights as well.

Trouble is I have no need to go to a hotel, especially for a holiday season.
{unless we have a big argument}
YMMV

Really recommend the McMenamin's Elk Temple.
Bothell, McMenamn's Anderson Schoolhouse Hotel, has a theater (live and movie) sitting several hundred, a saltwater olympic size pool and overlooking polynesian style restaurant. Other American style restaurants is also there. Of course, their brewed and distilled drinks, music venue and interesting rooms.
