I think it would be cool if they offered an affordable twofer price for satellite phone and internet .
Elon has a phone in the works called model pie spelled with the 3.14 symbol.
Having a satellite phone would be awesome for not losing signal offshore or in the backwoods.
If I can get that I’m in and Elon could get more rocket money.

The big money is in the phones.

If he can do it with a cell phone he will make lots of money. I don't need a cell phone in my pocket. If it works in a car or house, close enough and good-by Verizon.

But for city folks I suspect most of them will stick with the corporate three.

Their buildout started under the old law. That gives you some idea of costs, which are cheap compared to Chelan County.

My off-grid home is four miles from the last power. Chelan PUD quoted a price of 1,000,000 to extend electrical service. This was about 15 years ago.

We said forget that. How much for just fiber we can make our own electricity, but not internet!

The reply we got from the PUD was……..1,000,000 and we will throw in the electricity connection for free.

Thanks for the link that was interesting. Over here we don't get much news about western washington outside of Seattle.
