We just moved here from out of state. The only reason we made a lot of money on our previous home was because we bought at the right time and sold at the right time.

We are looking into purchasing another home in the greater Seattle area (eastside), and are wondering what the real estate market is like now? When we sold our previous home, we had about 45 offers and it sold for $20K above asking price. Obviously, buyers were desperate and there was very little inventory on the market.

Is it like that here in Washington, specifically the eastside puget sound region? Or is the market more buyer-friendly? We are fine with renting for now and would rather buy a home when the time is right rather than overspending during a mini real estate bubble like what the buyers who offered on our old house were doing.

Thank you!

It was that way last summer, but has slowed down with the cold weather. On our street in August a sign went up on a Friday, open house Saturday and was sold on Monday with 6 offers, all over asking. Lately there are less homes for sale but they are taking longer. One sold around the corner in November but took 5 weeks, and I don't know what they got for it. Here in Sammamish they are building again too, with some new homes starting at about $800k.

I'm seeing that too in Bothell of all places. Seattle
where they are starting in the $700s at this time of year. Did I mention this is Bothell? It sure is changing fast.
