Hi there, hoping to get some input from those with experience about living in South Belligham and commuting to Mount Vernon for work. I am looking at a job in Mount Vernon but trying to decide where would be the best place to relocate family to. We definitely like Belligham, but not if it means a commute greater than 30 minutes each way or with a lot of traffic during 'normal' commute times (roughly 8am and 5pm.)

Thanks for your help!

I don't make this drive often so I'm not qualified to comment other than to say that I believe Google maps (website, not app) provides traffic info. Might look there.

Hi Jake,
I make that commute from Skagit County to Bellingham every day. Traffic is a non-issue and it's about the prettiest drive on the entire I-5 corridor! However, it gets kind of mundane twice a day, every day. All in all though, not too bad.
Hope that helps!

I did the commute from Bellingham (near Sunset) to Burlington for 3 years up until the end of 2010 when I moved away. Three years ago it was a beautiful drive with no real traffic to deal with once you hit the freeway. May have changed now, but in 2010 it was a nice commute. It's fast freeway driving so it goes pretty quickly, and is easier on the car than stop and go. Rarely it would snow and that would make things slower.

Overall it was a nice 25min commute with beautiful scenery.
