Question Tonasket howell canyon area

Hey Shalom,

I'm wanting to move to Tonasket area? Can you tell me whats the area like around Howell Canyon Road?
I got google earth as far as Havilah to Siwash Creek Rd and there it ended. Chance of land buy ( if these guys are legit- have good and bad reports on them) near Howells Canyon end of road. Also up Airport Rd area east of airport ?
Was hoping to get trip there this late summer if possible. But may not make it now as my auto started having some funny squeaks and got have it checked out.
Looking for semi-remote /remote area- but with road access- with plans to spend summers and build small cabin for permanent move //no zoning restrictions ..etc. Place I could maybe have yurt /
I'm senior on SS and gotta live cheap now...
Any info- help appreciated.

I married a girl from Republic and inherited 40 acres along the Sanpoil River south of Republic. Sold the property and divorced the women a couple years later. Her dad owned the local news paper 'The News Miner' I guess named after the large gold mining operation (Knob Hill) north of town.
Republic is very isolated and would make a great place for someone on the witness protection program.

LOL - World's funniest marketing statement.

It is pretty up there, if remote is what you're looking for!

Yes but Shalom moved to Tonasket which is really not that close to Republic. So I’m curious. But who knows where they moved on to.

40 miles. Republic is the next big town when you go east from Tonasket. Out west, that is pretty darn close!!

While I agree that Tonasket is not that far from Republic I have to make a small correction here...Republic (population 1182) is not the next big town fromTonasket (population 1214). Maybe just the next town is what you should have said.
