Mangers half-smokes are available at eastern market. I just bought a bunch to take back to Chicago. I think some of the vendors are using the Esskay Briggs ones. They are not like I remember growing up in DC. They are skinless and not as flavorful. The Mangers have skins and taste like what I remember.
I don’t know about all beef half smokes. My understanding was they were called half smokes because they were half beef and half pork.
