Anyone know what kind of commute time is involved in taking the metro from say Ventura or Oxnard in Ventura CO. to LA.
What about cost?

There is no MetroLink in Ventura County. You would have to take buses or the train that I believe would eventually connect you to the Metro in Universal City, but I don't know anyone that would do that. Driving would be faster than going that route and that could take you up to two hours back and forth. There is only an Amtrak in Oxnard that connects to Van Nuys, so I would go to the Metro website and Amtrak to look for yourself.

Metrolink from Chatsworth to Burbank is 20 minutes. I think that route starts in Simi Valley or Moorpark and ends in Union Station downtown.

This is totally wrong. I took Metrolink for 4 years from Oxnard to downtown LA, Union Station. There are 3 morning and 3 night trains now from Ventura (Montalvo) and Oxnard. My ride took 1.5 hrs, about same as driving downtown- BUT I could do work on the train. Cost is like $10-15 R/T or so I think if you buy monthly pass. You can work on tables on the train. Many of my best friends now are those I met on my rides. Train is clean and safe. Metrolink rocks...Amtrak is always late. But Amtrak is good if you work late and you can get food and drink on the train.
