It's a great experience. Pricey but among the most memorable meals I've ever had. "Farm to table" concept connects farmers, restaurants and patrons - all eating near or on the farm. Here's a great writeup in Sunset Magazine that explains it.

Tickets go on sale Sunday, March 20; last year they sold out in about 30 minutes.

2011 Tour - Outstanding In The Field

Two of the dates are in Ojai; the rest are elsewhere in the US, Canada and Europe:

Wednesday May 11, 2011
Earthtrine Farm, Ojai, CA
PRICE: $200.00
HOST FARMERS: BD & Liz Dautch, Earthtrine Farm
GUEST CHEF: Rachel Main, Main Course California, Ventura
TIME: 4:00 PM

BD Dautch of Earthtrine Farm is a warm and welcoming dinner host. His vibrant, well-tended fields of flowers, oranges and vegetables are a portrait of a farmer's care. A table in the middle of it all provides a pleasant place to spend the afternoon. This is our second visit to BD's farm. We are excited to be back, excited to see BD again. BD's old neighbor, Rachel Main from Main Course California is our enthusiastic guest chef.

Rio Gozo Farm, Ojai, CA
PRICE: $200.00
HOST FARMERS: John, Elizabeth Fonteyn & Steve Sprinkel, Rio Gozo Farm
GUEST CHEF: Tim Kilcoyne, Sidecar Restaurant, Ventura
TIME: 4:00 PM

Let's do it again. Last year was great; a farming charmer, delicious food by chef Tim Kilcoyne and a spectacular view of the mountains surrounding beautiful Ojai. Rio Gozo farmer John Fonteyn has a lot to say and a lot to show. Last year was a hit. The word Gozo means joy in Spanish.
