This new map just came out and should be interesting to people moving in to Utah and wondering which areas have the highest and lowest percentages of LDS residents.

It looks like Salt Lake County (where Salt Lake City is located) is now 51% LDS.
Weber County (where Ogden is located) is 54% LDS.
Utah County (where Orem and Provo are located) is now 82% -- the highest of all the counties.
Washington (where St. George is located) is 62%.
Summit (where Park City is located) is just 30% LDS.

Utah, as a whole, is just under 63% LDS. I hope this information will be helpful.

One correction: Morgan and Rich Counties are actually more LDS than Utah County. Though few transplants are likely to be interested in Rich County, Morgan County is an attractive option to some, with its horse properties and proximity to Ogden.

Keep in mind the stats show the percentage of the LDS population - but not how active that population is. I think this explains why Utah County seems more LDS than it actually is.

Yes, and why SLCo seems way less than 51% LDS. So many of those people are technically members, but completely inactive.

You're right! I didn't notice that untill you pointed it out. And guess why? It was due to this preconceived idea I had that Happy Valley was the most LDS. Thanks for correcting me.

That's the whole point; while it may be that high on paper, it is NOT that high socially, functionally, or culturally. Half my friends who are technically LDS, and therefore counted in these percentages, are not actual believing/attending members at all; they drink alcohol, coffee, etc. and are politically VERY liberal. (I think they should really just resign their memberships so their technical religious affiliation matches their lifestyles [and so these types of statistics are more accurate and meaningful!], but the familial/social reasons behind not doing that deserve a thread of their own!

Moving from Salt Lake to Davis county... Should be interesting but looking forward to it. I do notice a dropoff in coffee shops (good ones), ethnic/dining options, and alternative church options. Bountiful / parts of NSL are great places to live IMO both affordability and proximity to most employment options/downtown.
