civil engineering...i used to live with engineers
well, my brothers and my dad are all electrical engineers and my mom was a chemical engineer. i'm the only one that strayed hehehe, but the only one that got in the US using my profession.
for someone of your visa, the employer could well put you in a place where there's a lot of booming construction, but not in a city where there's too much competition for jobs among the locals. so i don't know about tyler's construction/civil engineering needs. your skills could very well be put to use more in areas like midland than tyler.
with that said, there have been a lot of foreign nationals pouring into tyler lately. my hospital alone has employed people from india, south africa, chile, philippines, ireland, nigeria. would love to meet an aussie to add to my collection of foreigners i've met here in tyler
