My family and I was looking to get back to Texas ASAP~ More the Tyler area or surrounding areas as well~ I have been on the lookout for good schools, and have found some very nice ones. My boys are in high school~ And they have a great school where they are now in Arkansas, I'm hoping to find something similiar~ Their school is not judgemental on boys with long hair and peircings, I called them when we first moved here to ask, and they said~ "Well yes boys can have their ears peirced and long hair, if the girls can, then why can't they?"
So I was hoping to find another good, open minded school in the same way if at all possible. But when I am doing just basic searches on males with long hair and schools, I have had no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!

You are finding low income and low Anglo numbers so high in Tyler public schools because most of the upper middle class Anglo kids are going to private schools, leaving the rest in public. If you are looking for good public elementary schools, look in south Tyler (Owens, Jack, Rice) and Hubbard middle. Avoid John Tyler High School at all cost. There are two major socioeconomic classes in Tyler, the rich and the filthy poor. If you fall in the middle, you kinda have to make do with what is available. That is why I recommend S. Tyler.
