After seeing this thread, I went and started season 1. Finished the first episode, several lol moments through it, but the best was at the end.

I'm enjoying it too, i liked Alan Tudyk from the Firefly series.

The one thing I notice in the writing and characters, is every male character is weak, inept and stupid, except for Asta's father. It's such a stale cliche at this point with modern movies and TV, they cannot portray male characters with any redeeming characteristics. Only the women are allowed posses any morality, wisdom, empathy or competence. Oh sure, the women can deviate from the norm to provide comic relief, or to play the evil villain.

The show revolves around Tudyk and the female characters. You could make entire episodes without a single spoken line from the men. The male characters are just there for the comic relief and to give the women a reason to be victims, and give them something to be upset about and overcome.

It's still funny because the joke writers have a sharp wit. I'm just getting sick of the same old cliched shtich from Hollywood, where men have no redeeming characteristics.

It better get a 4th season after that ending....

Isn't it normal to make the male characters the stupid ones? It's been that way for a long time, hasn't it? I remember seeing Honeymooners reruns when I was a kid.
