Spoiler
I didn’t feel they needed 7 episodes of trying to free Hopper. I wanted to see him get back with the gang to fight the big bad. However, as some of you explained with the 80s Russian movie homage, it makes sense now.

I found it funny that as the kids have gotten older, Winona Ryder seems to have aged backwards
This season is running a close second to Season 1 for me, and I absolutely agree about Winona Ryder. She is looking great for a 50 yo woman. I'm glad to see things seem to have straightened out for her after some rough years a while back.

I burned through all episodes in 2 nights, basically.

I'm enjoying it.. I.. Don't really get into the 'ranking' of the seasons.. I forget so much in between the time they do them that it probably wouldn't be fair to do that anyway.

Best I can say.. I'm entertained.

I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but before retiring I was a middle school principal. I kinda liked it when they were younger. I'll probably stick with it till the end of this season (at least), but I'm not enjoying this season as much. That's just me.

Spoiler

1. Victor Creel supposedly murders his family in 1959.

2. His son Henry was 12 years old at the time.

3. We later learn that it was actually Henry who committed the murders, as a 12 year old, in 1959.

4. But Henry is supposedly a nurse / orderly at Hawkins Laboratory with Eleven in the late 1970s / early 1980s. So let's be conservative and put the date at 1978. That would make Henry 41 years old at the time.

5. There is NO WAY that actor was 41 years old. He looked mid twenties, late twenties at most.

Why did Henry not age??? Is this a plot hole or was this explained somewhere that I missed?
Explanation :

Spoiler
Henry is born in 1947. He is sent by 11 to the upside down in 1979. 32 years old. The actor is 34 years old. Not incorrect.

Best season so far, the stories are deep. The Adventures are thrilling. I can't ask for more and binged like everyone else.

Love This Song
Kate Bush almost never gives permission to use her songs in TV shows, movies and commercials, even though she would be paid, but in this case, it turned out she was a fan of Stranger Things.

They played the song during the 2012 Olympics ceremony, but Bush didn't want to appear live - she recorded the vocal part:

I watched the first 1.5 episodes of S4 and turned it off. It just seemed dumb. I don’t plan on watching any further.

I also think this is the best season so far. The delay gave me some concern but it has definitely been worth the wait.

What's so impressive about Stranger Things is that they keep adding key cast members without any disruption to chemistry. In fact, I'd argue that the chemistry has improved with each addition.

I'm at the point now where most of the original cast members are my least favorite of the crew. The most notable exceptions are Dustin and Steve who continue to provide perfectly-timed comic relief. I was indifferent to Robin in S3 but I've come to really like and admire her. Max might be my favorite character of all. Mike, Will, Jonathan and to a lesser extent Lucas don't have much personality, which I guess is fine since some contrast is needed against more lively characters like Dustin and Steve. Eleven is the "heart and soul" of Stranger Things but I personally don't feel like I'm missing much if she's not on screen. On the other hand, any episode without Dustin or Steve just feels dry.
