I cancelled this show from my DVR this week. I realized that I don't like either of the main characters, and Abishola's accent is like nails on a chalkboard.

Well at least you're honest at about it.
Me? I love the big guys, didn't watch Mike and Molly, LOVE him on this, the stache is cool (i love facial hair just not that unruly Duck Dynasty beard crap) and his voice has some charm to it. I'd date him in a minute. To each his own.

I understand completely - it's one of the reasons I don't watch many of the scenes with Kate on This is Us; she's not just fat, she's morbidly obese. And before I get attacked for my opinion, we all have those things in other people that make us want to gag; whether it's nasty feet, bad breath or whatever.
It's a cute show...so far. The one scene that disturbed me was Abisola's son one morning and went to the kitchen for breakfast and said he's hungry; Abisola gave him an apple and said go to school and be hungry for knowledge. I thought wth? Why wouldn't she give her son breakfast?!

I saw a similar scene on Y&R, where Lola had a busy day planned but then said, ?oh let me at least make you some toast?.
True, Abi could have made her son something to eat it giving him an apple is probably more than some kids get get in the morning. On our real busy AMs as a kid, we would get those Carnation instant breakfast powdered drink mixes to put in milk.
I enjoy watching this show and like all of the charactors.

You probably shouldn't watch The Middle - the mom on that show was always struggling to keep everything together and the kids were left to fend for themselves or whatever was in the fridge. How bout some mayonaise on bread Brick? lol.
