Every Saturday night I walk my ferret around the University of Arizona campus and enjoy all the lush green grass, here and there, and it's quiet, very relaxing to walk around. There's 2 tunnels that run under Speedway, one near Tyndal and other near Warren, to connect the south and west campus. And it's about as safe as you can imagine with campus security vehicles patrolling.

In Las Vegas, with grass hard to find, I used to walk my ferret around the University of Nevada campus in Las Vegas, where there was still lots of green grass to walk on.

Yes, there are some green grass parks, but if you're looking for lush green grass, this is the ticket! There's a 24 hour Jack in the Box @Tyndal and Speedway, and there's offerings on University Boulevard.

And, the parking ramps around the campus are free on weekends.

I went to Danny's bar tonite, Fort Lowell near Mountain Ave., and before entering the bar I take my ferret for a 6-10 block walk before hand. Across the street I saw Winterhaven, spelled out at the entrance way.

What a big, big surprise that was! It's a Leave-It-To-The-Beaver community, Perhaps built in the 50's/60's, all brick homes as you'd expect, on spacious lots, and every lawn has an abundance of green grass, and a strict HOA, where you're forced to maintain a green grass lawn. Winter Haven is famous for their Christmas lighting displays, which draws in local tourists. There's also other events staged in this community as well, drawing in local tourists.

I spoke to someone at the bar, puzzled as to why all that green grass is allowed, when so much of Tucson is grass-less, and he said that, long ago, they made a pact with TEP and the city, with reduced water bills.

So now I have another option besides luxuriating in the green grass at the University. If you're ever up in that area, don't miss it!

I would love to see a picture of that, I have no idea how you can keep a ferret on a leash. They have such a slick, slim body, how does it not slither right out???

A halter leash does the job! I have to adjust it in winter and summer, as ferrets gain weight in winter and they get skinny come summer. There's all kinds of Youtube video's of ferrets, and video's of ferrets on leashes.
