500 to 700? This range is not set in stone.

Are there any affordable efficiency apartments near 1 Government Center?

We have two "extended stay" hotels that I'm aware of - one in Holland and another in Maumee.

Honestly, if I were you, I'd check into AirBnB. I know that there are people who rent rooms/apartments in the Old West End here and they'd be more convenient for you and probably cheaper. There are also places in Harvard Terrace (near the Toledo Zoo) and even some downtown apartments that get rented out via that site. They may be able to work out a monthly rate for you.

I have used Airbnb once. Spent a week in a vacation home in Fort Lauderdale that I found through this site. Less expensive than a hotel and a very helpful and area knowledgeable host. Thanks a lot for this excellent suggestion. I will definitely check out what is available in the Toledo area.

Do you know the names of the extended stay hotels in Maunee and Holland?

One concern I had when considering AirBnB for a few months for a move was "Can it serve as my legal address?" I don't know the answer. But are you able to put it down for your drivers license, car insurance, employer's tax records, etc.? I guess the same is true for extended stay hotels too.

Actually, without a lease or utility bill in your name, it may be hard to prove residency at all.

Good questions.

An Airbnb host might be open to writing up a simple, one page, month to month lease with all utilities included in the rent and this should be as good as any other lease. Right?

The extended stay hotels are the Extended Stay America brand name (see link, it includes all the extended stay motels in the area. Don't know if I'd do the Knight's Inn, which is the cheapest. I've heard some bad things about that one)

On having an address with an AirBnB address. It depends on the host. They sometimes can provide a lease. I'd just get a PO Box near wherever I'm staying (or near where you'll be working) in order to have a legal address. Not sure if you can put a POB for your driver's license but everything else, you can list a POB.

As far as I know, City of Toledo does not require that its employees stay or prove residency within Toledo.
