If that school is still there, as well as the family store, I'd love to tour that.

I've gone to a couple of Civil War Battlefields in Virginia, along with the Gettysburg PA battlefield. Anyone here read Michael Shaara and Jeff Shaara's books on the Civil War? I've got two of the books, but the best one that I've read so far is "Freedom" by William Safire.

Which reminds me --- I spotted a sign on the local library that they're having a book sale. I need more bookcases.

Don't know if the OP is still around but the school is preserved as a historic site with a little museum adjacent.
